The Dutch-Russian joint-venture restaurant is located very close to St. Isaac's Cathedral, in the building that housed the Synod and Senat from the middle of the 18th century. The interior design is very fresh and plain with white washed walls and vaulted ceiling. Furniture is a mixture of old and modern trendy style. Food is good and service is nice. The cuisine ranges from Russian to international. President Clinton chose this restaurant for lunch during his 36-hour stay in St. Petersburg in 1996.
Entering from foyer-reception one can see the vaulted ceilings which are showcases of reproduction Empire and Post-Modern murals and the furnishings and fittings create a modern spacious atmosphere. The restaurant’s cuisine is a wonderful combination of the best dishes of European and national Russian cuisine. The restaurant is popular with male companies because the meals in “Senat-Bar” are not only tasty but really generous.
The drink menu includes over 15 Dutch and international boutique beers, and one of the most comprehensive lists of aperitifs and spirits, as well as specialty cocktails. Generous wine list deserves special attention. The restaurant is proud of it’s wide collection of French wines and also we can provide our guests with wise range of Spanish, Italian, French, Georgian wines as well as wines from Chili, Argentina and South Africa.
